New this year, art will introduce "participation points" as a way to assess student engagement! What are Participation Points? Participation points are a "snapshot" indicator of a students' willingness to create a productive learning environment by 1) answering questions when called upon, 2) following directions/ask for clarification when directions are unclear, 3) raising hands during instruction, 4) having all necessary supplies ready for class and 5) following our social distancing guidelines (in-person learners only). How often are Participation Points given? Participation points will likely be given on class days where there is not a product grade (project) due. Why does my student have a deduction to the Participation Points? Participation points will be deducted when students fail to create a condusive learning environment. A verbal warning will be given before point(s) are deducted. Single points will be taken away, after the warning, per infraction of the points listed above.
